Salisbury & South Wilts Railway Society

This layout is the fourth in our Cornish Lines Project. It comprises the main line GWR station on the London – Penzance line depicting the station area with the branch line which links up to Bodmin General, another club layout, providing the possibility of running through services between four layouts, Bodmin Road, Bodmin General, Wadebridge and Padstow.


Set in the late GWR/early BR period, running on DC, the layout is of a dumbbell variety which allows planned or continuous running with ample opportunity for shunting in the down goods yard and cattle dock, plus the exchange sidings on the up line for the transfer of china clay hoods from Wenford Bridge via Bodmin General to the main line.


The track is Peco code 80 rail but the pointwork is handmade. A variety of Graham Farish and Dapol models make up the stock.


The layout is still currently under construction with a view to having it available for exhibition in late 2014.
